UCLA Alumni Association board welcomes new officers and members for 2024–25
UCLA Alumni Association board welcomes four officers and eight members for the 2024–2025 fiscal year. The volunteer-led board is made up of 12 alumni who partner with alumni affairs staff to further the association’s mission of enriching the lives of alumni around the world and involving them in UCLA’s future.
UCLA Foundation welcomes new members and Board Chair
Two new members have been elected to the The UCLA Foundation board of directors this year, along with a new board chair. UCLA alumni Edward Barnett and Matt Kaczmarek, who began their terms March 7, join Cheryl Lott, a current board member whose election as chair was announced in January and who will begin her two-year tenure on July 1.
Julio Frenk to take helm of UCLA, nation’s No. 1–ranked public university, as its 7th chancellor
Dr. Julio Frenk, the president of the University of Miami and a leading global health researcher who has held positions in government and academia, both in the U.S. and in Mexico, will be UCLA’s next chancellor. Frenk’s appointment was announced today by the University of California Board of Regents. He will begin his role as the campus’s seventh chancellor on Jan. 1, 2025.
